Home Improvements That Add Value To Your Property

Most homes have some room for improvement, our own home could definitely do with some TLC. But when deciding what improvements to make it can be hard to decide what ones are the right ones, especially when you're looking to add value to your property.  Will adding a loft conversion really improve its value? Does a swimming pool make a property more attractive to buyers – or less? Before you go spending your hard earnt cash, it may be important to understand which improvements are actually going to add value to your property.

The guys over at Tile Mountain  have  created a handy reference guide to the most common home improvements homeowners make and which are most likely to add real value to your home and who it compare to other countries.

After taking a look at the UK section I'm not at all surprised that parking can add a huge amount of value to your property. With our terrace style of housing, parking can be hard to come across, so paving part of your front garden and/or creating a drop curb is a real selling point for many buyers. The interesting facts really surprise me too, for saying how much us Brits crave a car parking space we seem to be making our garages redundant!

I often talk about how we're desperate to move as we are seemingly outgrowing the space. Loft conversions are always tempting me, but I'm still undecided on whether or not that's the right choice for us.

Are you working on any big projects? Have you managed to successfully add value to your property?
