Our Easter Sunday

It's raining, in it's true British Bank Holiday Monday style but you know what? I'm not the least bit bothered. We've had the most wonderful weekend and no amount of rain or negativity can take away from the memories we've made and to me, that's exactly what Easter is all about. Making memories and spending time with family.

In the morning we awoke early and headed to the English Whiskey Company for their annual Easter egg hunt. It's one we always drive past and say that we will always visit but never do but this year we got ourselves organised and headed out.

It's a lovely little hunt, perfect for the little ones and goes across the grounds surrounding the distillery. Whilst there was no whiskey tasting for us, we did have a warming cuppa and scones in their fabulous cafe, which kept us going after a morning of hunting.

In the afternoon it was time for a huge family party at my Aunt & Uncles house, my Gran is turning 80 this year and with the Easter weekend and an overdue gathering, it was the perfect opportunity to get us all together.

It's rare that we all get a chance to be together but when we do it's always as if we saw each other a week ago! Lots of food, children entertaining each other and drinks flowing, it was perfect. The rain even managed to stay away.

What I loved most was seeing most was "the next generation" playing together. My own children along with my cousins got on wonderfully and it was great to be able to sit back and relax!

We still have two weeks of family fun and I can't wait. I definitely feel incredibly grateful for everything at the moment. Life is good.
