The Holidays Are Over...

Back to work I go... Boo. Also it will be Darcie's first full day at Nursery (She is going for one day a week).

I have been ultra organised today, got up did day two of the "30 Day Shred" (its a brutal DVD workout, Google it!) and then popped into town to get the last bits for Darcie's first day at Nursery.

I have been on the hunt for a bag that Darcie can use for nursery that can hold spare change of clothes, a toy, her day book, dummies etc and I couldn't find anything that I liked (Yes, I'm fussy. Then I stumbled across this little beauty in Tesco. Its £12 and actually a lunch box, but its the perfect size, and well it has googly eyes!!!

In the main compartment, I have put two sets of spare clothes (one just being a sleep suit), bib, socks and her Sophie the Giraffe. Also there is a handy compartment where her day book fits perfectly.
At the front of the bag is another smaller compartment, where I can put spare dummy's, and any other bits and bobs she may need.
Her nursery is providing her food, and they already have a good supply of her nappies, wipes, nappy cream and milk so luckily I don't have to pack that each time too.

Fingers crossed she will have a lovely day, I'm sure she will as she loves socialising with other babies.

Bring on February half term!

Sale Bargains!

As my girl is a growing one, I'm always looking out for bargains clothes wise. On a recent trip into town I came across M & Co's sale and found these two lovely coats!

The Spotted one was £16 reduced down to £8, its lovely and very warm ideal for January and February.

The Red one was £20 reduced down to £10, this one is my favourite, I have a "thing" for red duffel coats and Darcie has already had two in her little life!

This is my only bit of sale shopping I have done! Lame really but just haven't had the time, nor need. Any of my lovely readers grabbed a bargain in the sales??

Darcie's new little friend...

In the shape of a Cath Kidston teddy bear, which was given to her at Christmas by her Nana and Grandad (My Dad and Step mum).

Last night my Mum was over and she was cuddling up with Darcie whilst I was prepping her bottle, my Mum suddenly said "Quick, come here". When I came in Darcie was sat on my Mums lap putting her dummy in her own mouth and then putting it on the Teddy's mouth!!!! MIND BLOWING!!!

How on earth can a seven month old have this much intelligence that she can understand where a teddy's mouth is?!?!

Since then she is seemingly becoming more and more attached, pity really as I quite fancied this perched on my bed... hehe.

Yes I'm that kind of mother who...

Frames there children's art work!

Her first pieces of beautiful art I have framed and put up in our kitchen... Anyone else do this or am I crazy?!?! I think they look beautiful and really look nice in the kitchen. Obviously I won't do this with everything she makes (that would be slightly eccentric), but these two pics were her very first, so its a bit of a proud mum alert!!

What do you think? Future Picasso?

All quiet...

Ever since I posted my Sleep Training post Darcie has become a nightmare at bedtime again, typical really after raving about her! To be fair to the girl she has had a lot of illness to contend with along with bouts of teething, so at the moment we're plodding along and "going with the flow" and not worrying too much.

Hopefully once she is over her latest cold she will be back to goo sleeping habits, if not I may have to go over some sleep training again...

Happy New Year

Happy New Year lovely readers!

I have set myself a little challenge for 2013 to try and blog everyday... Some won't be full blown posts but I may share a picture, or something on Pinterest that I love or just babble away about something boring... I promise there will be some good(ish) posts thrown into the mix too!

My first day of 2013 has been a rather hectic one with me and Jamie deciding to decorate our Kitchen/dining room... God painting knackers me out!! Here is a sneak peak....

I will do another post in due course with full details and pictures using my DSLR

May 2013 be a joyful and kind to you

2013 New Year Resolutions

So its that time of year when I take a moment to look back, reflect and then look to the future and what I want from 2013.

Stress Less: 2012 has been an amazing year, but a tough one. I have noticed on many occasions that I feel totally stressed about things that really I shouldn't stress about and also I have suffered from high blood pressure this year, and I need to think of my health.

Lose weight: I have already done a post on this and since then I lost 9lbs, but I have a long way to go to reach my ideal weight. Hopefully this will be the year...

Home Decorating: This resolution is already well under way, I plan on getting alot of the house done this year. Money permitting... as always!

Read More: Last Christmas Jamie got me a Kindle which I absolutely love, but since Darcie has been born there always seem like there is something to get on with. This year that will change, my Kindle is full of books waiting to be read, currently I am reading Games of Thrones.

Facebook less, Blog more: I don't think that needs an explanation, but I do want to try and move away from Facebook a little bit more.

Get Darcie Christened: Ok so perhaps this isn't a resolution but more a goal that I want achieved in 2013.

What's your New Year resolutions?

Christmas

Darcie's first Christmas has been a lovely one, she got so many presents and has been one lucky little girl. I have been so overwhelmed by the kindness of people, especially as I know times are hard for many (including me) with the rise in the cost of living.

Our day started at 7am where we came downstairs and opened a couple of presents before having breakfast and then digging in for more present opening!

Once presents where opened we got ourselves dressed and started to play with Darcie's many new toys!

Then we went to my Dad's house to have Christmas dinner, which Darcie had too and absolutely loved!!! Followed up with more presents! Then My brother and Mum arrived... more presents... and then me and my Mum went back home and Jamie off to work (boo!). This Christmas has been very chilled and relaxed, exactly how I wanted it to be!
