Holiday Habits

Amist this amazing heat wave we're currently having and the fact I'm still at work, to say I'm day dreaming of a holiday is an understatement. I often find myself daydreaming of  a holiday and remenicing over past ones, the fact that we're not going away this summer isn't helping matters either! Auto Europe recently got in contact asking if I would like to share my holiday habits after they compiled some research on British travellers holiday habits - which came out with some surprising and sometimes amusing results.

When I'm on holiday the diets definitely go out the window just like many other Brits. I love my food (and the odd alcoholic beverage) and going on holiday is the perfect opportunity to indulge in local cusine. When I was younger we would often go on holiday in Europe, my favourite part of the trips was always getting up early with my Dad where we would go and walk to the local shop and bakery to pick up crossaints, cheeses, fruits and freshly squeezed orange juice. It was the perfect time to spend one on one time with him and it was nice to set up breakfast for the rest of the family. It's something that I have contined to do with my daughter.

The tension time made me giggle slightly... I think the only time me and my hubby would argue whilst on holiday is when it comes to directions. Even when a sat nav is involved we still manage to exchange a few cross words!

Unlike most British holiday makers, I actually dislike sunbathing. I can tollerate it for an hour or so, but I soon get uncomfortable and bored. When I'm on holiday I love to explore, and experience everything our destination has to offer. Though I have been known to chill out on a sun lounger when the sun is setting reading a good book - thats the time I really like to switch off.

I think over the next few years our travel/holiday habbits wil change slightly. My brother-in-law moved over to California so we will be spending most of our holidays there. Which I can't really complain about as its such an amazing destitination!

Are you off on a summer holiday this year? Can you relate to any of the British travellers holiday habits?
