A Brownie In A Mug In Three Mins!

I know, I know, I am supposed to be on a health kick... Well I lost 5lb this week (crazy right... more on that in another post) and I wanted a little treat today and thought about making some brownies. However if I was to make a batch today it would be gone tomorrow.

So browsing through my food and drink board on Pinterest I came across a wonderful recipe for a brownie in a mug!!! Perfect for that little treat without the risk of eating a whole batch (please say I am not the only one who does this!).

Ingredients

1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of flour
2 tbsp of coco powder
pinch of salt
2 tbsp of olive oil
3 tbsp of water

Method

Add all dry ingredients
Mix
Add water and olive oil
Mix
Put in the microwave for 1min and 10 secs

And there you have it!

You could always add extras like ice cream to make it even more naughtier...

Are Ipswich better than Norwich? A seven month's old opinion

So out at dinner yesterday, Jamie was casually chatting and asking her opinion on football and his beloved team Norwich...

The sound quality is poor but he says "Darcie is Ipswich better than Norwich?"

Probably Jamie's proudest moment he he he!

Blossom Farm Whiskers Cat Pat Mat

Well that's a mouthful isn't it?!?!

Today I'm introducing something that Darcie loves, its the Early Learning Centre, Blossom Farm Whiskers Cat Pat Mat. This bizzare looking thing was given to Darcie for Christmas from my Mum, as she noticed how Darcie liked to pat the table on her high chair.

This toy encourages Darcie to explore and feel for the toys floating around in the water. Yes it's filled with water (which you add) and some people have said on the ELC website that there's have popped because there babies have rolled over onto them... well thats not what there designed for!! We have not had any problems with leaking or popping, as we keep Darcie's on her high chair.

She really loves this, it keeps her entertained whilst we prepare tea... life saver!

Its a bargain too at £6.40 (currently in sale, original price £8, check it out here)

Alternatively I have found a DIY version that I think would work perfectly...

... This such a simple idea with everyday items, all you need is a freezer ziplock bag, some hair gel, duct tape and a few things to put into the bag... simple! Please check out THIS blog for further info.

Darcie at seven months

Well Darcie is seven months old... Craziness!! In the last couple of weeks Darcie seems to have progressed so much its scary! It amazes me that all of a sudden they just start doing things out of the blue!

Well Darcie has never been keen on tummy time, but she has over the last week got herself into the crawling position! I really thought (and still do really) that she would skip crawling because over the last couple of weeks she has started pulling herself up and trying to walk when you hold her hands!!!

Another new thing she does is shake her head, its hilarious!! And she finds it amusing too!

The other night whilst playing me and my mum are pretty convinced she said Dadda! She hasn't said it again but she is definitely becoming more vocal.

Food wise she is doing amazingly, she handles finger food superbly and cheese sandwiches are her new favourite.

She has also become very loving, she has never been a clingy baby. She is very independent and very confident. But recently she has been giving us cuddles and kisses and its so lovely because you know she is learning to express her self.

Sleepingwise, she seems to be going back to her good habits. Occasionally she will end up in our bed but that isn't until around 5am, a big improvement on 10pm!!

Oh I do love my girl.

Kitchen Delights

My house is slowly coming together YAY! I LOVE snooping around people's homes and getting ideas... I'm one of those people who has the Right Move app on their phone just so I can do this on a daily basis and play then game "if I had a million pounds I would buy this house..." I normally get greedy and need about £50 million to for fill my dreams!!! So with that in mind I thought I would share with you our progress on our little home...

The only new addition is the colour, my home is still prominently magnolia, and when you have lived with it for a year and a half adding a bit of colour really is progress for me!! There is still quite alot I want to do with this room but we seem to have got the ball rolling so lets hope this continues!

Something To Entertain The Little Ones

Last week I was re-organising our wardrobe in our bedroom when I came across some of Jamie's running gear, in there I found an un-used aluminium foil blanket that runners get given at the end of an event.

I remembered at one of my very first baby groups I went to, they had one of these and Darcie was utterly amazed with it. So I decided to see if it still had the same appeal...

First of all we decided to play underneath the blanket, I got some flashing lights from her toys and we watched the light reflect off the blanket, she was amazed!

Then she played for aaaages on top of the blanket exploring with her hands and feet, listening to the noise the material made, this was her favourite part.

This little activity is such good fun, and kept Darcie entertained for a long time. A nice, simple, mess free and enjoyable for both you and baby :)

You can get these blankets from a varitey of places, sport shops or outdoor shops would probably supply them. Alternitivly check out Amazon they have 5 blankets for £4.25!
