Mondays are Play Days

Both Darcie and I are feeling much better, so a whole day of play ensued!

We had all the toys out! (I'm one of those awful mummy's that doesn't like mess!) So it was a real treat (hehehe)!

Darcie spent the majority of the morning in her ball pit and trying to escape! Then had her morning nap, in the afternoon we played with her books, shapes, bricks and did lots of walking!

Here are some piccy's of my posing monkey...

But too much playing lead to a sleepy girl...

How beautiful does she look here?! Its so lovely to see her so happy today, after our awful week this was well deserved fun!

A Shopping Date With The Mother

As my regular readers may know, this week has been crap! Filled with sickness, trips to the doctors and literal crap!

So yesterday Jamie surprised me with a little treat, he told me to ring my mum and ask if she fancy a shopping spree and handed over a generous amount of cash! So even though I felt (and still do) pretty rubbish I couldn't refuse!

We decided to head to Norwich today. It was a lovely day with mum, I see her lots but I always have Darcie with me so it was nice to have some one on one time like the old days! I think the last time we did that just us was just before my baby shower!

First stop was a cafe as neither of us had eaten, we stopped off at Cafe Nero and had a Panini and I had a Chai Latte (HEAVEN IN A CUP!!!) then proceeded to tacal House of Fraser. I do love HOF, and there sales are always amazing! I picked up a raspberry coloured blazer for £9.99!!! At this point (Probably an hour into our visit) I was exhausted and feeling dizzy and kept coughing for England! I picked up some water at that saw me through the remainder of the trip.

As we mooched around the shops we made a beeline for Zara's, where I picked up some gorgeous skinny jeans. They fit like a glove and where sooo comfortable - which I haven't been able to find since having Darcie, so I instantly snapped them up for £29.99! I also found a gorgeous top that would of gone perfectly with the jeans, so went and tried them on and well... lets not go there... I wasn't a happy bunny!

We stopped off at Schuh and got some gorgeous Trainer wedgey thingys! I really hated them when they first came out but they have soon grown on me! Think they where £48.

After some more mooching we stopped off at Boots and I purchased some bits and bobs...

Rimmels Cocktail Colour in Hawaiian Punch
Max Factors Max Effect in 02 Bronze
Max Factors Max Effect in 05 Sunny Pink
Max Factors Mas Effect in 03 Red Bronze
Rimmels Scandaleyes in Bronze
Rimmels Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in Pink Rose

(Sorry for the awful  pic quality!!)

And that was me spent for the day!! I was super impressed with my purchases!

Lovely way to spend a Sunday as I so rarely just have some "me" time :)

Twitter

I have had twitter now for a couple of years, but I never linked my blog and twitter together, I always felt I needed them separate.

But I have seen how good twitter is at networking and so decided to take the plunge and make a second twitter account that is linked to my blog, its separate to my private one which is nice I think but also gives my another platform with my lovely readers!

Please feel free to add me, the link is above on the pages bar!

Illness

So this is the worst part of being a Mummy. We have been dealing with a very poorly bubba for the last couple of days, and to be honest she isn't improving.

On Tuesday morning I was getting ready for work and suddenly realised Darcie hadn't woken up yet (very unlike her) so I walked into her room and she was just staring at the celling and was breathing quite heavily. I picked her up for a cuddle and she started to cough badly and then threw up a load of mucas. I presumed it was just from her cold. So I decided to get her dressed, and during this time her breathing got worse. It was very laboured and wheezy so gave her some of her inhaler. We then went downstairs for breakfast where she was sick again. I called work and took the day off to take her to the docs (I had called NHS direct and they said she needed to be seen by a Doctor) as Jamie had already left for work.

I took her to the Doctors where she was seen immediately. The Doctor looked at her and kept saying "Oh she is bunged up with cold" I on the other hand thought it was much more, but kept quiet. After listening to her chest, he said it was most likely that she had a bit of a chest infection and gave her some antibiotics.

Well we thought she was improving, and we put her to bed in the evening after she attempted some dinner and she went to sleep. Me and Jamie sat down to watch a film when I herd a funny noise. I went upstairs and Darcie was lying face first in her own sick. I got her out and sat her on her changing mat to strip her down where she was then sick again. I then realised that we hadn't had a wet nappy since first thing this morning so I called NHS Direct again. They wanted us to take her to an out of hour surgery in Norwich.

When we arrived Darcie seemed brighter, the Doctor there did the same examinations but said that she had some inflammation on her lungs - not an infection like the previous Doctor had said. He recommended a course of steroids to help with her breathing.

Today I thought we were finally getting somewhere. Her breathing was slightly better and she wanted some food (yesterday she refused nearly everything). We gave her breakfast and she kept that down too. Whilst this was happening I was on my way to work, whilst driving there I started to feel very sick and felt that working in a school (and with the knowledge that Darcie had some kind of viral infection) it probably wasn't a good idea to try and carry on at work (Good job too....!).

When I got home Darcie fell asleep again. This is where she spent most of the day, cuddled up with me asleep. She woke a couple of times for a drink, which she kept down and she even managed some lunch.

At about 3pm I thought she was over the worst of it, when at 4pm she started being very very sick again. Then the diarrhea struck too.. oh my god it was awful... think cream carpet and a fountain of baby diarrhea... Not good!

After that episode she was very whingy I gave her some water and she was still whingy so I tried her with a bottle. She managed 3oz and kept it down for about 30mins before bringing it up again.

She then had some more water and she is now sound asleep again next to me.

I am very concerned about her and have herd about all these nasty viruses going around, its awful! Just trying focus on keeping her hydrated.

As I write this, my own chest is tightening and Jamie is sounding bad too, Family and Friends keep away!

Stay healthy people

Monday Family Date Night

So traditionally Mondays are pants... and work wise this pretty much lived up to this, however Jamie was on a mission it would seem to change this. He picked me up from work and we went to collect Darcie from nursery an hour early and we went into town to do some bits and bobs. When then met with my Mum and went for dinner at a local pub, nothing special but it was lovely to not have to worry about cooking!!

We then got home and we plan on having a nice chilled out evening... Jamie is even going to do my nails apparently! hahaha!

In other news Darcie said this today....

We also got ANOTHER tooth! So proud :)

Love you Big D and Little D
