7 Things to Change About Your Home to Make it More Relaxing
If you wish you had a more relaxing home environment, you’ll be pleased to know there are things you can do that are suitable for almost any budget. Even making a few small changes to your home interior can make it appear more relaxing and tranquil. To help you out, you’ll find 7 things below that can help you to achieve a more relaxing vibe in your home. Take a look and see what you can do:
Get Rid Of Your Clutter
Start by getting rid of excess and unnecessary clutter in your home with the help of cheap skip hire. It’s natural to use free surfaces as dumping grounds for letters and things, but if you want to make your home more relaxing you should aim to reduce clutter as much as possible. Try to have a set area for putting letters and things down, but aim to deal with them as soon as you get them to keep clutter to a minimum. Letters aren't the only type of clutter, but if you can come up with a process for the things that seem to pile up in your home, you’ll be able to deal with them so much easier.Tuesday, 23 June 2020
5 Ways to Add Value to Your Home
Pixabay
If you plan to put your home on the market at some point in the future, you want to be sure you will get a high return on your investment. Your home is likely your most valuable asset, so you want to be able to capitalise on your investment. The more money you can get for it, the higher your chances of being able to afford your dream home.
Before you sell it, it is wise to do whatever you can to maximise the value of your home. This can range from keeping it clean and well-maintained to more extensive renovations that completely transform your home. Whatever your budget, there are steps you can take to add value to your property. Here are five ways you can do so.
Keep it well-maintained
Nothing drops a home’s value quite like dirt and disrepair. Don’t let your home fall into a bad state. It seems obvious, but you should always take care to keep your house clean and tidy and get any problems fixed before they get too serious.

Decorate
A little bit of decor can turn a drab, uninspiring home into a highly-appealing property that buyers will jump at the chance to get their hands on. A bit of painting, a new colour-scheme, and changing out fixtures such as lights, mirrors and door handles will be inexpensive but can completely revitalise your home’s interior.
Increase curb appeal
What a house looks like from the outside is one of the key factors in people’s buying decisions. No matter how beautiful it looks on the inside, an overgrown lawn and cracked peeling paint will make it look rundown and unattractive. Increasing your home’s curb appeal doesn’t even take much time or money, but will add a huge amount of value. By simply giving your home a new coat of paint, weeding the driveway and clearing out any dead leaves and branches, you can make an enormous difference. You can take this a step further by adding new garden furniture, outdoor lighting or plants.
Renovate kitchens and bathrooms
Kitchens and bathrooms are two of the most important aspects buyers consider when looking at properties, and investing in a renovation can pay off when it comes to selling your property. To save costs, you can keep your existing layout so the electrical and plumbing systems won’t change, but updating surfaces, fixtures and tiling with a cleaner, more modern style will pay dividends.
Convert your loft
Changing a two-bedroom house into a three-bedroom house will instantly add an enormous amount of value to your home. And you don’t need your house to magically grow in size either. The attic is usually an underused part of the house, but by converting it into a bedroom, or even a new living area, you can increase the amount of living space in your home and make it more appealing to any buyer. You will, of course, need to check that the structure of your house can support conversion and that it conforms to building regulations. To get you started, here are some ideas for a loft conversion.

Creating More Space In Your Home When Moving Isn't An Option
Photo by Antonio Caverzan on Unsplash
When you move into your first home. There’s so much room to put things. Fast forward a few years, and a few kids and your house is now bursting at the seams. Every cupboard and draw is full, boxes of stuff are piling up in the garage. Living in a cluttered, cramped home isn’t good for our mental or physical health.
What can you do to get more space? Sure, you can channel your inner Marie Kondo and start decluttering and organising. It’s a great way to keep on top of things. What family does need is space. Space to live, space to keep things.
You might not want to move home, so it’s time to get creative.

Productivity As A Freelancer | Why It Matters
Productivity matters in any form of work. In the big corporations millions are spent thinking up new ways to get people productive. Even in smaller businesses it has become more important, with work flexibility coming to the fore more than ever before. It centers on the simple fact that if a worker is happy, then they’re going to be more productive. The same applies to you. Being a freelancer, you likely won’t have a manager keeping you as productive as possible. Instead, for most, the only method of motivation you have is what you give yourself. So how do you increase your productivity? There are many ways to go about it. From focusing on yourself, to focusing on your business and how it operates. The key thing to remember is that everyone is different. What works for friends might not work for you. It’s why trial and error play a key part. Try some of these and see if they can help you.

Is SkillShare worth signing up to?
Before I begin this article, I want to be clear that this is not a sponsored post. I simply love the site and wanted to share with you how I have been using it and whether I think it’s worth paying for the subscription. However it does contain affiliate links where by if you choose to subscribe I will receive a free month - I currently have paid a full year subscription out of my own pocket.
During lockdown I have tried my absolute hardest to not spiral into a pit of depression. For many of us this is the stark truth when having to be confined to the house and I have really had to change up my mindset and re-programme the way I view the situation. One thing that has really kept me going is taking on small projects and many of them have stemmed from SkillShare.

NHS Colouring in Pages
How are we all finding the current situation? I feel like we have got into our new normal and are bumbling along quite nicely. I won’t lie, it’s been really tough and I have noticed a huge spike in traffic on my post about being a “shouty mum” - I know tensions are high and this is super stressful, I think we have all found ourselves being that mum at one time or another. Just remember, we are all in this together.
