Ask for evidence
One of the first things that you can do is ask for evidence. It may sound a little strange, but this can really work to you advantage. You may think something flippantly, for example “I am not a good wife” or “I am a rubbish mum” but then ask yourself in your mind what evidence there is to support that. Are your kids clothed, fed and happy? Yes! Is your husband smiling when he gets home or you see each other at the end of the day? Likely. Has he said anything to make you think that way? Possibly not. Once you start to question yourself wanting fact, you begin to see that there isn’t any truth to the thoughts.
