Home Decor Projects for 2016

As with every year, in January I like to look ahead to projects that I want to do around the house over the year. In 2015 we obviously re-decorated the room which is now Henry's bedroom, I was so pleased how it turned out, but we didn't end up doing anything else around the house! For 2016 there are a number of projects that really need to be done. We've lived in our home now since 2011 and some area's are definitely in need of a bit of TLC.

Our hallway is the first on my list, the walls are marked, the front door is a mission to open due to the sea of shoes that are scatted everywhere and there is a ton of photo's that need to be put up. It's a project that isn't going to take much in the way of finances - but as always, it's finding the time to get the project completed! I want a very light grey colour to be painted throughout the hallway and landing, and white frames and a white shoe tidy to compliment.

Next we desperately need to sort our garden. We have done nothing to it, other than maintaining it, since we bought the house. We NEED to build a shed. We have bikes that we have to store at my parents, Darcie's bike is kept in our kitchen and so we just need that extra bit of space for storage etc. I want to make some areas for planting, maybe even a small veggie patch. The dream is to create a space that the kids can enjoy as well as us. I feel this project is going to be one that will be a challenge for us, and will be the main project of the year.

Lastly, our bathroom, I say this time and time again, but it's space I just don't love and it's not really functional. Our bathroom is small and very uninspiring, so I have been looking for inspiration for small bathroom ideas. From the research I have found, lighting and storage will be key when we come to decorate this room. Realistically, this won't be until the end of the year, but I think it's definitely achievable.

Are you working on any project's in or around your home this year?
