How to restyle your home for summer

restyle your home for summer

Hello warm weather. If you’re anything like me you’ll be so super thrilled that summer has arrived. I love it. I love the summer wardrobe, I love the blue skies, I love the warmth, I love the ice cream, I love the trips to the beach. I love the bbqs and the socialising. I love the fact that the little ones can wear less clothes (less clothes = less washing, right?) or basically just live in swimwear. Summer is such a great season, it gets people outdoors and everyone feeling good. But all this positivity and good vibes doesn’t have to and shouldn’t stop with you and your family. Spread some summer lovin’ around your house too. Why not give your home a makeover? To help you embrace the warmer weather from inside your property, and if it’s super duper hot check out accidentalhipstermum.com’s tips for dealing with a heatwave. In the meantime here are some summer-themed interior design hints and tips to get you started.

Feeding to Weaning #StressLessWeaning

One element that seems to worry mums is milk intake when weaning. It's certainly an element that has worried me when I was weaning both my daughter and son. At 9 months Henry is loving his food and his milk intake has definitely lessened. I have found that Henry has very naturally and gradually dropped his milk intake as his interest in food has risen.

Henry's typical food and milk intake at 9 months, is now as follows.

Henry at Nine Months

My little boy has been out in the world for as long as he was in my belly, my baby is now nine months. NINE MONTHS. I'm not sure where this year has gone, but I keep trying to reach for that slow motion switch but unfortunately it's out of my reach and time, as always, is just flying by.

Henry's been a busy boy this month, he now has two teeth which explain's why he has been so grumpy. He's had some quite bad day's teething, including some quite high temperatures which did worry me slightly. Darcie never got a temperature with teething so this was something new. He has been particularly grumpy again recently so I'm thinking more are on their way.

Muddy Puddles Puddle Pac-a-Mac | Review

When Muddy Puddles got in contact with me and offered to send Darcie one of their Puddle Pac-a-Mac's I was thrilled. We're a family that adores to get out and about and explore the countryside that's on our doorstep and further afield, so I knew this could be the perfect product for us.

Crocs Handled Wellies | Review

When Croc's got in touch and asked if we would like to try a pair of their wellington boots, I had mixed feelings. Croc's was a brand that I was never really drawn too, but after taking a look at their site I was immediately converted. I love their bright and colourful designs, Darcie was drawing up a list of shoes that she was now insisting she needed. For Darcie to be that taken by shoes, I knew Crocs was going to be a brand we were going to fall head over heels for.

We opted for a gorgeous yellow pair of handled boots. Perfect for independent little ones who like to pop their own shoes on and off, the handles make this a doddle. I wish they did them on adult boots, anyone else spend a good few minutes trying to pull a wellie off after a good stomp around the countryside?

Darcie's Turned Four

Four year's ago I was preparing myself for the most anticipated moment of my life, the birth of my beautiful and bright little girl. It doesn't seem possible that I now have a four-year-old and she will soon be embarking on school. This four year has made me see just how truly blessed me and my husband are, she's has been the most incredible gift who continues to teach and remind us of all the wonders that life brings.

At four years old, she has such a passion for the world around her. She constantly wants to learn and question everything. Whilst this drives me slightly bonkers at times, I must hear "Why?" about three million times a day, I know this is that passion for learning creeping through. She is so wise for a four-year-old too, telling me it's ok to make mistakes. This kid.
