Travel Plans for 2018

2018 will be the year of adventures, that's a promise I've made to myself. Whether big or small having experiences and making memories with my little family is the aim for the year. We've already got some lined up and I thought I would share with you our travel plans for 2018.

February 2018

February, a month of love with Valentines just around the corner but for me and my husband it marks 12 years being together. We've decided to celebrate it with a cruise to Amsterdam. It's a place we have previously visited back when we were in university and we happened to see a wonderful offer and thought why not revisit?! Confined to a small cabin, a chance to stroll around the canals it will be a perfect way to reconnect and spend some well-deserved quality time.

We have no itinerary, but that's the way we like it. Spontaneity is pretty perfect for a city like Amsterdam, but I would love to hear your recommendations. We've done the whole sex museums and red light district back in our early 20's, perhaps something slightly more cultured this time may be better.... or not!

Summer 2018

In the summer we have our big family holiday lined up. We still haven't decided on a destination but we are working with Eurocamp this year and are currently trying to decide between Switzerland and France. This is something I'm incredibly excited about as this used to be our yearly holiday when I was a child and now I get to share that with my own family.

I want a destination where the landscape is something entirely different than what my children are used to. They've never seen "proper" mountains and I love the French and Swiss Alps and I have had some incredible holidays there in the past. I love the variety that these destinations bring. In the valleys you have warm sunny days, laying by the pool or lakes. Then the next you could be doing a spot of summer skiing. You really can have it all rolled into one with this destination.

Camping

Last year we went camping locally and it's something I think we're going to try and do more of. It's a cheap way of getting away from the day-to-day and the kids really do love it. Henry has already started asking if we're going to go camping again soon!

I would love to hear about your travel plans or if you have any suggestions for our Eurocamp holiday.
